The elusive WebQuest is complete! Long story short, I had to RE-CREATE the entire thing. Blech. But let me tell you, it's a load off my mind for it to be finished.

I thought I'd have some down time this weekend, but looks like I've got assigments piling up. So I have to be responsible and find playing time later.

My Life.

Great News. Good News. Bad News.

What do you want to hear first?!

Bad News. My website that I've been working on for my final project is down/broken whatever. I'm not sure what my next move is. I want my students to begin working on it tomorrow.

Good News. Ramsey went to the Homecoming dance last night and had a great time. Brittany was home for the weekend and played with Kailey and Emily. My 5th grade field trip to Fort Osage went well. The students asked great questions.

GREAT News. I just got my final divorce papers in the mail. I've just shed 275 pounds and am officially single again. Look out world!!!

I'm STILL here!

Last weekend we celebrated Kailey's 6th birthday! She had it all lined out as to what we were to do and the order in which we were to do it. My favorite part was when we each had to tell our favorite Kailey story.

School is in full swing and the students LOVE the projector. We haven't started our blog yet, but we WILL. I promise! Right now our technology has been getting in the computer lab and working on FASTT MATH. After practicing facts is when I want them to get on the blog. They did take my survey and loved it, so I need to get more of the surveys incorporated into my lessons.

STILL working on my webquest. I've tried several websites to work on, yet I can't seem to navigate them easily. So much for a Master's in Technology! I won't give up though.

I was able to log into my blog on the first try!

So my projector AND Airliner is up and running! I don't know what I did without them. The kids are fascinated and totallly engrossed in learning. We've gotten through one big experiment (3 questions to discover) and the Airliner was a HUGE help. Much better than the overhead. Now I just have to be even more prepared and scan everything that I need to show.

Right now my WebQuest is at a stand still. I'm searching for more websites to use.

3 day weekend - here I come :)

YEAH!

Great week! The projector was hooked up on Thursday and I immediately began using for our Archaeology. The kids were even impressed when I began typing their ideas as they were saying them. Can't wait for more....

The Airliner was dropped off in a box by my principal on Friday. Yes, I have to wait for another work order.

I'm EXHAUSTED!

Okay so the last two weeks have been a whirlwind! I'm not sure if I even know my name. We had successful back to school meetings. If you're familiar with BIST, I had to get out of my box and share with the group how we should start the year off. Thankfully there were other BISTY people there that were sharing as well. My powerpoint for the first day of school was ready to go and then MUCH to my disappointment my projector isn't connected to my computer yet. So I just did it the old school way and had class meetings discussing how our first week should go. Apparently we have the 50 ft. wire that connects the computer and projector in the building but we have to get a work order to connect it. WHY can't I just climb up on a few desks, push up a few ceiling tiles and connect it myself?! Good Grief.

Side Note: Kailey's first day of Kindergarten was this past week! My last of the four kiddos is finally in school. sniff. sniff. sob. sob.

Hmmm.....

So I just typed a big blog about how I have started my Webquest template, messed with gadgets on this blog and it was a very interesting read. HOWEVER...it wouldn't let me post it. So now you get this short sweet version since my creativity went into the last one that didn't show up. Maybe I'll have better luck next time :)

Where to begin?


I'm so excited to learn how to utilize this in my classroom. Angie (on my 5th grade team) and I were discussing at the end of last school year how we would love to have a journalism club. We went on to brainstorm how we'd like to have it paperless so that we can move the entire school building towards technology and a paperless society. Once I was introduced on how this blogging stuff works I immediatey was excited! THIS is how we can teach journalism and have our school connected through technology :)
